From her personal experience, Sigi Marmorstein quickly recognized that the maternity journey is filled with tons of questions, and not many accessible answers.
That's why she founded BabyLiveAdvice, a virtual care team that provides advice, counseling and support from pregnancy to parenthood.
Since graduating from the first 1501 Health cohort in 2021, her team continues to redefine the world of maternal care, educating and empowering women across the nation by partnering with top medical systems.
In her interview, Sigi explains how her team finds smart strategic partnerships, and how she’s learned to pace herself throughout the process of growing a healthcare start-up.

AFRO | October 15, 2022
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) and Live Chair Health are partnering to bring greater healthcare access to underserved communities in four Maryland counties: Prince George’s, Montgomery and Baltimore counties, as well as Baltimore City.
During the 6-month program, Live Chair Health will support barbers in helping members understand their benefits, choose a physician, and get them scheduled with a first appointment. Outreach will be initiated to 400 CareFirst members each month (100 per county), and act as an access point into the healthcare system to help improve health outcomes at a community level.
"Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Collaborates with Health In Her HUE to Connect Black Women and Women of Color with Culturally Sensitive Health Care Providers"

National healthcare incubator 1501 Health is inviting early-stage healthcare startups to apply to its year-long cohort to help scale their solutions through investment and resources. The incubator is accepting applications from Oct. 4 – 25, 2022.
Companies chosen to participate in the program will receive up to $125,000 in investment capital – a 25 percent increase over last year to account for the challenging landscape for early-stage companies raising capital, according to 1501 Health Co-Manager, Soo Jeon.
Members of the cohort will have access to unique mentorship opportunities and support from payer and provider experts as they navigate the extremely complex “pay-vider system,” along with networking and educational events with other startups, investors, and stakeholders.
